The Walled City

Those of you with a smattering of Northern Irish history may know that the Irish city "Derry" was renamed to "Londonderry" during the Plantation of Ulster, as the new city was built by London guilds.

Subsequently, this proved rather controversial and this beautiful city was successfully rebranded as "The Walled City". All of the walls are intact with their original gateways, making this the best preserved walled city in Ireland.

As part of this rebranding, Control Lighting Ltd were invited to create and install the Lighting Control Solution to light up these "obelisks" on the roundabouts approaching the city.

The lights switch on automatically every day from sunset until 11pm and follow an interesting lighting programme of many colours. And, yes, we carefully combined "orange" and "green" in perfect harmony!
